How It Works
1
Precise Sheet Positioning
The CNC punching machine, with the help of computer numerical control (CNC), moves the metal sheet along the X and Y axes so the punch strike location is exactly beneath the punch ram. These machines can work on metals such as steel, aluminum, brass, and galvanized sheets, processing thicknesses from about 0.5 to 6 mm with high accuracy.
2
Selecting and Using the Proper Tool
Inside the ram of the machine, dozens of punching tools of various shapes and sizes can be installed. CNC control determines which tool activates at which coordinates. Simple shapes like circles or squares are created with a single strike, while complex designs are formed by combining and overlapping multiple strikes. Each tool’s die aligns with its matching lower die to ensure precise punching.
3
Creating Shapes and 3D Forming
Beyond drilling or cutting 2D shapes, CNC punching machines can perform forming operations such as embossing or knockouts on either side of the sheet. This process enables the creation of diverse parts with uniform quality, ready for assembly or direct use.
